A very worn and incomplete 'dolphin' jetton possibly of Mitchiner (1988) type 482. The dolphin was an allusion to the Dauphine of Vennois (Mitchener 1988, p 182) and has a strong relationship to the french crown through Charles V and his son, the later Charles VI. These jetons were produced in south eastern France between 1373-1415.
Obverse: A stylised dolphin, circling counter-clockwise and possibly with a suggestion of a worn coin purse hanging from the mouth. Legend around, partially illegible '[LE NOBLE ET] HIER POI'
