Copper-alloy hooked strap fitting of post-medieval date (c. AD 1550 - 1650), possibly from a sword belt. The object takes the form of an oval plate and a forward-curving blunt hook. The back face is slightly concave. There is a rivet hole at each of the bottom corners of the plate; the outer edges of these are missing. The object is brown in colour, with patches of green corrosion. It is 30.63mm in length, 18.03mm in width and 3.37mm in thickness. It weighs 4.64g.

What remains is the other oval loop and the strap bar, along with a heavily encrusted brown iron pin. There are trefoil mouldings on the front face at both ends of the strap bar, as well as at the apex of the curve of the loop. The broken edges and the surface are worn. The fragment consists of the outer half of one of the oval loops, including the top of one end of the strap bar. The fragment is D-shaped in section, with a flat underside and a convex upper side. The top of the strap bar is decorated with trefoil moulding on the upper face. The broken edges and the surface exhibit a high degree of wear. The fragment has a patchy dark brown and light green patina. It is 47.0mm in length, 30.0mm in width and 2.3mm in thickness. It weighs 4.55g.

The broken edges are worn. The break reveals that the body of the object is hollow. The axehead has a patchy green and brown patina. It is 40.83mm in length, 30.76mm in width and 12.69mm in thickness. It weighs 43.35g. This object was donated to Craven Museum and Art Gallery by the finder.
