A fragment of a clear glass of green-blue tint bottle base, dating from the Roman to Post Medieval period, AD 43-1500. The fragment is a shard from the base of a hand blown glass vessel with punt; part of an inner ring of glass adheres to the edge of the punt, possibly as a flaw corrected during manufacture. The base of the vessel does not appear to worn and contains a number of bubbles of various size, suggesting bespoke manufacture. This could be either a Roman or a Post-Medieval vessel, as the recipes for soda glass used in both periods were similar, and both could produce very dur…

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman radiate of Postumus (AD 260-269), Reece period 13, P M TR P COS III P P reverse type depicting the Emperor helmeted standing left, holding globe in right hand and long vertical spear in left hand. Part of the circumference of the coin is missing where the consular numbers should be, and the gap between COS and P P is quite wide but if the numerals are spaced out, and the bases of the two outer 'I' are visible, then it likely reads III when he was Consul from AD 262-266. Cf. Cunetio p.144, pl.24, no.2391.2

Cast copper alloy amulet in the form of a miniature Roman brooch or fibula. The wings are stunted and squared off and there is a rectangular projection at the back of the head instead of any hinge or spring, with the entire head decorated in transverse grooves. The bow is biconical in section with a central mid-rib and flat sides that are decorated with incised oblique parallel lines and there is a casting seam on the back which is off-centre.
