A complete lead-alloy Medieval penny sized boy bishop token, dating to the period c. 1470-1539. Generally quite a crude cast. Most similar to the Series X (Uninscribed Bury Series) as described by Rigold (1978). The obverse depicts a bulbous mitre with two pellets (one above the other) in its centre. There are four additional pellets arranged around the mitre (two each side, with one above the other). There is no crozier depicted. The legend is made up of strokes. An incomplete lead alloy Medieval groat sized boy bishop token, dating to the period c. AD 1470-1539. The token has suffered heavy damage and now little more than half of it survives, part of the coin has been bent back upon itself obscuring the centre of the reverse. The boy bishop token is a Type C from the Neat Inscribed Bury Series (Rigold, 1978). Obverse: bust illegible. Inscription is illegible. Obverse: no inscription, instead there is a border of regular strokes - the bottom section of a mitre is visible. Reverse: no inscription, instead there is a border of regular strokes - Long cross dividing the legend with three pellets in each quarter.
