Late medieval to post medieval copper alloy dagger chape, Length: 36 mm, width: 25 mm, thickness: 4 mm, weight: 5.27 g. The object is sub rectangular in from and cross section. It forms one half of a two piece dagger chape, having rounded sides and a hollow reverse. Its upper half has a rectangular form and has an upper edge decorated with semi-circular cut outs and a central heart shaped cut out below. The lower part is shaped to represent a seashell, with a rounded lower edge and a series of radiating incised lines spreading from its upper centre. Where this joins the upper part …

Medieval or post medieval copper alloy dagger chape, Length: 45 mm, width: 15 mm, thickness: 17 mm, weight: 8.12 grams. The object is formed of a single sheet of metal and is triangular in form and sub circular in cross section. It has a rounded base and shollow with tapering sides. Its front upper edge has two small triangular shaped recesses and the entire surface is tinned/silvered.

Medieval copper alloy chape, Length: 42 mm, width: 22mm, thickness: 6.0 mm, weight: 6.90 g. The chape is trinagular in form and rectangular in cross section. It has a rectangular projection in the centre of its upper edge, from which runs a central ridge. It has tapering sides running to a rounded base and is decorated with an openwork circle, rectangle and circle on either side of the central ridge. 1100-1500 (Similar to SUR-393FB2).
