Neolithic (Early) to Bronze Age (Later) notch, 4000 BC to 501 BC. Made on a translucent slight grey brown flint that is starting to turn light grey through the process of patination. Extensively worked flake that displays evidence of further striking on both faces. The left lateral edge has been notched on the ventral face and the right lateral edge possesses a step fracture on the dorsal face presumably to provide support for the thumb during tool usage. Mesolithic (Early) to Bronze Age (Late) notch, 8000 BC to 501 BC. Made on a broken flake using poor quality chert. The chert is riddled with impurities and is an opaque mid to light grey in patination. The left lateral edge has been notched, however the right lateral edge and the end of the piece does possess a small amount of semi-abrupt retouch. The dorsal face shows one central and parallel flake scar, the other half possesses cortex. 27mm long, 15mm wide, 6mm thick and 3.2g in weight
