Palaeolithic (Upper) to Neolithic (Late) keeled/core scraper, 42mm long, 36mm wide, 27mm thick and 31.9g in weight. The piece has been made from a core and has been truncated at right angles in two directions to create the keeled shape. The relic core edge displays evidence of unidirectional removals. The distal end has been abruptly retouched. The flint is opaque and is light greyish brown in patination with some iron staining present.

Palaeolithic (Lower) to Mesolithic (Early) flake, 33mm long, 43mm wide, 14mm thick and 18g in weight. Thick hard hammer struck wide flake with a large plain butt on a creamy white opaque chert. Distal end displays some evidence that it was once part of an old platform of the core from which it came. The dorsal scar patterns show an orthogonal flaing method was in practice.

Object type: FLAKE
Broad period: PALAEOLITHIC
County: Leicestershire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Palaeolithic (Middle) to Bronze Age (Late) flake, 19mm long, 16mm wide, 5mm thick and 2.2g in weight. Small flake with no pronounced bulb of percussion and small striking platform, which could have been struck with a soft hammer, and therefore could be a small thinning flake. The flint is opaque and the patination has coloured the flint to a orangey brown. The dorsal face displays two unidirectional flake scars that are also small. The the flake may even have been struck from a small pebble or a very exhausted core.

Palaeolithic (Lower) to Neolithic (Early) end scraper, 30mm long, 36mm wide, 8mm thick and 12.2g in weight. Made on a light grey chert that has become more light orangey brown through patination on a flake that is short and wide. The semi-abrupt retouch has rounded the distal end of the flake. The butt is dihedral and quite thick. This flake was hard hammer struck and is more than likely Palaeolithic.
