A silver siege coin struck at Newark dated to 1645 to 1646. It is a lozenge shape and weighs 5.13g; length 34.94mm; width 31.10mm. A post-medieval silver 'siege piece' struck at Newark. The coin is lozenge shaped. The obverse depicts a crown flanked from left to right by C and R. The crown has eight pellets on the left arch and nine on the right. Due to wear it is possible that some pellets cannot be seen. Below the crown are the numerals XII, which denotes the denomination as a shilling.
