A gold lock-ring and three small fragments of gold. The lock-ring is decorated with a series of incised concentric lines. One edge of the lock-ring is broken in a ragged edge, the other follows a neat line that may represent the original edge or a cut mark. The lock-ring is in a moderate condition, with cuts and distortion across its faces. There is evidence of tubing holding the two faces together (this has lifted in one section to reveal this construction technique). An incomplete cast copper alloy (bronze) flat axe of Early Bronze Age dating (c. 2350 BC to c. 2050 BC). The flat axe is broadly sub rectangular in shape with an incomplete rounded shaped blade. In profile it is broadly lentoid, with tapering edges. The axehead is broken, with the butt end missing. The break is an irregular concave in shape; the width at the break is 37.99 mm (thickness:7.23 mm). A fragment (approximately one third) of a silver penny of Edward the Confessor (1042-66), 'Expanding Cross', light coinage (North 822), moneyer: Authgrimr (Othgrim; OÐGRIM), mint: Lincoln. An incomplete cast copper-alloy cup-headed stud inlaid with green enamel. Sally Worrell has comented that such studs are late Iron Age or Early Roman, usually with either a blue or red enamel (see FAKL-FCD5C7). This example has a green enamel with no traces of blue or red. The head is cup-shaped and is roughly circular in plan. The diameter of the head is 14.44mm and the cup has a thickness of 5.57mm. A fragment of a copper-alloy harness fitting terret ring of late Iron Age to Roman date, c.100 BC - AD 100. The terret is a 'simple' type. All that remains is one section of the loop with a collar, and a small section of the sub oval strap bar.  The metal has a light green patina and is worn. The folowing report is from Martin Henig. "An attractive intaglio in a lower quality, base silver ring. The material of the stone is a non crystalline quartz, a chalcedony, with an upper blue layer and brownish ground, so it could be called a blue onyx or nicolo [ jewellery terms rather than scientific ones], the blue caused by staining/chemical treatment.
