A copper alloy flanged axehead of Early Middle Bronze Age date of later short-flanged axe of Type Ulcrome. The axehead dates to c. Acton Park II / Taunton phase of early MBA which corresponds to Needham typology date is c. 1600-1300 BC.
The blade of the palstave is a splayed/crescent-shaped, with convex expanding sides, and a convex cutting edge, which is damaged. In profile the blade is sub-triangular with the widest section being at the stop ridge. The blade is 90.31mm in length. The width of the cutting edge measures 38.21mm. An incomplete copper alloy (bronze) probable socketed axehead or chisel fragment, of Late Bronze Age dating (c. 950 BC to c. 750 BC). The expanded blade has a curved convex (crescent shaped) cutting edge which is incomplete. The sides do not appear to be faceted and no ribs are present on either the front or back of the axehead fragment. The blade shows signs of wear to the edge, suggesting that this miniature axehead was a tool and not a small votive offering.
The patina is a light brownish green, with an uneven slightly pitted surface.

A gold lock-ring and three small fragments of gold. The lock-ring is decorated with a series of incised concentric lines. One edge of the lock-ring is broken in a ragged edge, the other follows a neat line that may represent the original edge or a cut mark. The lock-ring is in a moderate condition, with cuts and distortion across its faces. There is evidence of tubing holding the two faces together (this has lifted in one section to reveal this construction technique). Discovery: Found on 28th July 2016 within a small area (between 4 and 10 inches depth) on cultivated stubble while metal detecting
The hoard consists of 6 complete copper alloy rings, 1 incomplete copper alloy ring, 5 copper alloy ring fragments, a circular disc and lug object and 2 sherds of pottery that are thought to date to the Late Bronze Age. The flat axe is broadly sub rectangular in shape with an incomplete rounded shaped blade. In profile it is broadly lentoid, with tapering edges. The axehead is broken, with the butt end missing. The break is an irregular concave in shape; the width at the break is 37.99 mm (thickness:7.23 mm). A complete Viking cast lead-alloy trade weight dating from the early medieval period - the 9th or 10th century.
The weight comprises a cut fragment of ornamental cast copper alloy metalwork (possibly gilt) set into a lead base. The item appears complete. It is of flat cubic shape with the ornamental copper alloy inset covering all of the upper surface. The decoration of the copper alloy piece is simple: a small square surrounded by four L-shapes with arms of equal length. Head of a copper alloy 8th- or 9th-century Anglo-Saxon disc-headed pin, probably part of a triple linked pin set. The head and part of the shaft survive in fairly good condition. The head is circular and flat with decoration on one face, and has two holes, one on each side at 90 degrees between the top of the circle and the drop of the shaft. If the shaft emerges at 6 o'clock, the hole at 9 o'clock is now incomplete. Surviving width 26mm, surviving length 39mm. The object dates to c.AD 700-900.

Although ingots are traditionally difficult to date without a secure archaeological context they are often attributed a Viking date. Ingots of similar overall shape are typical of the Viking period and are commonly found in Scandinavia, on the Continent, and within Britain where they generally date from the late 9th/10th century. An incomplete cast copper-alloy cup-headed stud inlaid with green enamel. Sally Worrell has comented that such studs are late Iron Age or Early Roman, usually with either a blue or red enamel (see FAKL-FCD5C7). This example has a green enamel with no traces of blue or red. The head is cup-shaped and is roughly circular in plan. The diameter of the head is 14.44mm and the cup has a thickness of 5.57mm. On the under side of the cup is a truncated shank, 4.65mm diameter x 2.44mm long.

A copper alloy massive lipped terret ring of late iron age to early Roman date AD50 - AD200. It has an incomplete projection of a twin spur (lipped projection) within the ring. It would also have had a strap bar concealed at the base. Most known examples come from northern England and Scotland with an emphasis in Aberdeenshire. There are also examples from North Wales. It's very close to an example from Chesters, Northumberland in Jope 2000, 309, 291e and MacGregor 1976, 113.

A fragment of a copper-alloy harness fitting terret ring of late Iron Age to Roman date, c.100 BC - AD 100. The terret is a 'simple' type. All that remains is one section of the loop with a collar, and a small section of the sub oval strap bar.
