A fragment of a copper-alloy Trumpet brooch of Roman date, c. AD 75 - 175. The head is ovate with a double lug hinge mechanism to the reverse. The pin no longer remains. A D-sectioned bow extends from the front of the head but is much truncateed. The patina is a dark green. Similar examples are illustrated in Hattatt, p.327, fig.186 and are dated to circa AD 75 - 175.
