A complete cast copper-alloy La Tene I brooch of Adams type 1b, dating to the Early Iron Age, c. 450-300 BC. The brooch survives completely intact, though its pin and part of the spring is somewhat distorted in old damage. It demonstrates a four-coiled spring, the outer coils arching in a semicircle above the head before plunging to form the pin. A very worn and abraded cast copper-alloy fragment originating from a brooch of Hod Hill type, dating c. 43-75 AD. Only the lower bow and foot remain, being broadly triangular in plan and tapering along its length. Two pairs of double transverse mouldings are visible, one at the midpoint of the fragment and one at the foot. On its reverse face, the remains of the projecting catchplate are visible. Preserved in poor condition with a coarse brownish patina, it survives to a length of 32.56mm, 9.73mm wide by 3.02mm thick at its midpoint, and weighs 3.52g.
