An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle dating to the Medieval period, c. 1250-1400. The pin and plate are missing, but otherwise the buckle is preserved complete. It demonstrates a sub-oval frame with an offset, thinned strap bar. At the front edge of the frame is a recessed area flanked by two projecting knops, the recessed area itself wrapped with a separate sheet metal roller. Preserved in fair condition with an even greenish patina, the frame measures 22.57mm in length, 31.89mm wide at its widest point, 5.74mm thick at the sheet metal roller and weighs 4.83g. An incomplete cast copper-alloy composite forked spacer buckle dating to the later Medieval period, c. 1350-1450. The side-plates and pin are missing in old damage, but the frame and integral plate are preserved intact. The buckle frame is 'D' shaped with a projecting knop at its front edge, a recessed slot at the junction between the plate and frame demarcating the point at which the original pin was attached. Iron corrosion on the strap-bar probably reflects the original pin (now missing), while the upper surface of the frame itself is decorated with deep irregular grooves. Preserved in good condition with a dark greyish green patina, it measures 20.81mm in length, 39.08mm in width and 2.94mm thick at the midpoint of the frame. It weighs 8.89g. An incomplete and very corroded copper-alloy buckle pin from an annular buckle, dating c. 1200-1400. One end is looped (part broken away), the main body of the pin being rectangular sectioned and tapering to a sharp point. Close to the loop is the remains of a decorative raised transverse moulding. Preserved in poor condition, it measures 46.12mm in length, 8.05mm thick at the loop and weighs 4.79g. C.f a number of other examples recorded on the PAS database, PUBLIC-B3F588, NMS-038566 and SUSS-C9CCAE.
