It demonstrates a sub-oval frame with an offset, thinned strap bar. At the front edge of the frame is a recessed area flanked by two projecting knops, the recessed area itself wrapped with a separate sheet metal roller. The side-plates and pin are missing in old damage, but the frame and integral plate are preserved intact. The buckle frame is 'D' shaped with a projecting knop at its front edge, a recessed slot at the junction between the plate and frame demarcating the point at which the original pin was attached. An incomplete and very corroded copper-alloy buckle pin from an annular buckle, dating c. 1200-1400. One end is looped (part broken away), the main body of the pin being rectangular sectioned and tapering to a sharp point. Close to the loop is the remains of a decorative raised transverse moulding. Preserved in poor condition, it measures 46.12mm in length, 8.05mm thick at the loop and weighs 4.79g.
