Incomplete medieval to post medieval leg from a cooking vessel such as a cauldron, posnet or skillet dating to the period c. AD1300 - 1700. The leg has a worn break at the top. Broadly trapezoidal in cross-section, the leg is angled and bends at a right-angle, into a splayed foot. A prominent mid-rib runs up the front between the two toes. The vessels to which these were attached were usually of a tripod form and were widely used from circa AD 1200-1700 for serving and cooking. Incomplete medieval L-shaped scabbard chape dating to the period c. AD 1100 - 1300. It consists of a tapering socket with D-shaped lip at the top. One side is open, the other exhibits a horizontal -D-sectioned arm with a prominent mid-rib, terminaing in a rounded zoomorphic head. Just behind the head is a circular rivet hole. The other arm is missing. A U-shaped collar runs around the underside of the surviving arm and the break-point for the missing arm. See: IOW-D615A2 & NARC-5323A4

Medieval sheet copper alloy possible book fitting. The edges have been cut in a series of short straight lengths to form an ovoid shape with a slight concavity on both sides of the spring of the hook near which is a small rectangular aperture. A single rivet hole is aligned with the aperture and the hook. The front face is decorated with V-shaped motifs, one inside the other and both formed from pairs of lines of punched dashes. Similar examples recorded on the PAS database include: SUR-1B5329 & NMS-BED3F0.

Incomplete medieval gilded copper alloy buckle plate broken across the fold. Rectangular in shape, with a narrowed front edge tapering to the worn break at the fold. Bent across a transverse line. There are two rivet holes positioned one at each corner of the inside edge. The plate is decorated by a rocker arm border running around the edge. Within are two concentric ridged borders creating a reserve in between and framing a central rectangular panel with an engraved pattern of lozenges, each of which has a plain cross in the centre.

Post medieval double looped oval buckle dating to the period c. AD 1550 - 1650. It has a central narrowed and offset strap bar with a lobed knop at either end. The pin consists of a tapering piece of iron looped around the strap bar and may be a replacement. At the apex of each loop is an oval knop engraved with a series of transverse lines alternating with lines of punched crescents. The frame is decorated with a series of punched annulets. See Whitehead, R, 2003, p. 64, no. 392.

The object has a sheet gold back plate which exhibits a scar, with the remains of what may be a missing loop projecting from it.
