The fabric is buff/orange in colour. The upper and lower surfaces retain orange slip and the inner surface retains a minor amount of thick brown glaze. The upper end is slightly concave, where the fragment would have been attached to the body of the vessel. The front of the object has a centra, longitudinally running rib extending for the length of the object. This foot would likely have been attached to a posnet or small cooking pot.
