A complete silver Finger Ring of Roman date (AD 100-300). Henig Type VIII. The object has a 'keeled' profile. The Hoop is D shaped with an irregular cross section which changes from oval to D shaped to rectangular. The bezel has no setting, and is composed of the same metal as the hoop and may be attached by soldering. The bezel is sub-rectangular in plan and section. At the junction between the bezel and shoulders is defined by a slight groove. The shoulders are angled outwards and narrow in width whilst expanding in thickness forming a wedge. An incomplete silver Finger Ring of Roman date (AD 100-300). Henig Type VIII. The object is compose of a D shaped hoop and outward, flat, tapering shoulders. The bezel is missing due to a break and both shoulders have transverse fractures. The shoulders have incised decoration consisting of a shallow linear border with as deeply grooved V within. Similar examples can be seen on the Portable Antiquities Database: HAMP-08647A, CAM-C1230D- 2016T555 and SF-8A41DA- 2015T535 The metal has a pitted patina.
