An incomplete late medieval or post-medieval lead token, probably dating to the period c. AD 1400-1600. The token depicts one one side a long cross with circule around the the middle of the cross, with a pellet in each quarter thus created, surrounded by an outer border of pellets. The opposing side depicts an indecipherable design, possibly lettering or possibly an object. In the current orientation the design is ship-like, possible a mast and the hull, although the token being found so far in land tends to negate this interpretation. The 'mast' of the ship may be a cross, although t…

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
An incomplete cast copper-alloy, conical mount of uncertain date. The mount has a circumferential flange around the base which probably had rivet hols in for attachment but these cannot be identified in the mount's condition. The peak of the dome has a sub-rectangular hole through it - possibly for a rivet (similar to those seen in post-medieval furniture mounts), or is may be damage. The mount has suffered some corrosion and although the patina suggests a Roman date, it could equally be of post-medieval date.
