A copper alloy Roman contempary copy of an as of Claudius I dating to the period AD 41-53 (Reece period 2). Reverse type showing Minerva advancing holding javelin and shield. Robert Kenyon, following on from the work by the French scholars P-A. Besombes and M. Bompaire (in Trésors Monétaires XXI, 2005), is working through the British examples of Claudian coinage recorded through the PAS assigning many so-called Claudian contemporary copies to Roman auxiliary mints which operated at Lyons (Gaul) and in Spain. This example is a native copy.

A complete copper alloy post-medieval (AD c.1500-c.1550) hooked clasp of one piece. The clasp falls into Read's Class E, Type 3: circular single sharp-hooked clasps. A similar hooked clasp can be found in Read, 2008, Hooked-Clasps & Eyes, p.91, no.319. Overall, it measures 33.55mm long, 13.76mm wide and 1.89mm thick. It weighs 1.96g. The clasp was cast in one piece and consists of a trapezoidal loop, a central circular plate and a hook. The central plate has a central solid-domed boss inscribed with the black-letter sacred monogram IHS all within a cabled border. The hook is 13.19m…

A sherd from the body of a wheel thrown Roman Samian dating to AD 43-260. The outer edge of the sherd is decorated with draperarys and to the righthand side the bottom half of a person. The fabric is oxidised orange-red colour with gloss slip with fleck of limestone inclusions. The edges show areas of reduced brown colour. The fragment weighs 17.07g. It measures 52.16mm in length, 7.52mm in width and 40.58mm in height. Similar to Knorr 78.

A sherd from the rim of a wheel thrown Roman Samian type vessel dating to c AD 40-80. The outer face of the sherd is plain. The outer rim face is decroated with parallel vertical lines and a protuding edge 17.05mm from the tope edge, it is 3.37mm wide and protudes out with a thickness of 4.95mm. The fabric is oxidised orange-red colour with gloss slip with fleck of limestone inclusions. The edges show areas of reduced brown colour. The fragment weighs 31.02g. It measures 100mm in diameter, 3.94mm in width and 50.51mm in height. Similar to Dragendorff 24/25.

The outer edge of the sherd is decorated with the top half of an archer right arm raised with braid and draperary border above, a single flower on either side of archer. One half of a copper alloy medieval to post-medieval snaffle bit. It comprises of one of iron cheek piece attached to half of the copper-alloy mouthpiece. The other cheek piece and mouthpiece are missing. The Cheek piece is Type A and the mouthpiece is Type 2. The end of the mouthpiece where it would connect with the other half is broken. The mouthpiece measures 100.96mm in length, 12mm in width and 11mm in thickness. The cheek piece has an external diameter of 67.66mm, an internal diameter of 55.17mm and a thickness of 5.26mm. A copper alloy medieval ewer spout dating to c.AD 1250 - 1350. The rest of the ewer is missing. The spout is shaped to represent a dog's head. The back of the head and neck are decorated with chevron incisions. The opening of the spout is situated in the dog's open mouth. The head is detailed with incisions to further create the image of a dog: the ears can be seen on either side; hooded eyes can be seen either side of the ridge of the snout; two depressions on the end of the snout represent nostrils.
