A copper alloy Roman contempary copy of an as of Claudius I dating to the period AD 41-53 (Reece period 2). Reverse type showing Minerva advancing holding javelin and shield. Robert Kenyon, following on from the work by the French scholars P-A. Besombes and M. Bompaire (in Trésors Monétaires XXI, 2005), is working through the British examples of Claudian coinage recorded through the PAS assigning many so-called Claudian contemporary copies to Roman auxiliary mints which operated at Lyons (Gaul) and in Spain. This example is a native copy.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman Colchester-derivative with double-pierced lug brooch dating to the period c. AD 43 - 100. The pin is missing the end so no longer reaches catchplate. The brooch measures 48.86mm in length, 19.94mm maximum width, 1.49mm minimum width and weighs 7.14g. The wings are D shaped in cross-section and span 19.94mm (6.42mm thick).The end of each wing is decorated with a single vertical groove. An incomplete Roman copper alloy Hod Hill brooch with side lugs dating to the period c. AD 43-70. The brooch is missing the pin, lower bow and the catchplate. It measures 31.87 mm in length, 16.16 mm in maximum width and weighs 4.40 grams. The head measures 16.16 mm at its widest point, 5.63 mm in length and is 3.25 mm thick. A complete copper alloy post-medieval (AD c.1500-c.1550) hooked clasp of one piece. The clasp falls into Read's Class E, Type 3: circular single sharp-hooked clasps. A similar hooked clasp can be found in Read, 2008, Hooked-Clasps & Eyes, p.91, no.319. Overall, it measures 33.55mm long, 13.76mm wide and 1.89mm thick. It weighs 1.96g. The clasp was cast in one piece and consists of a trapezoidal loop, a central circular plate and a hook.
