A fragment (consisting of roughly one quarter) of the upper stone of a Roman stone rotary hand mill or quern dating to c. AD 43 - 410. The quern is slightly convex on the upper face, the lower is flat. It measures 149.90mm in length, 88.89mm in width and 31.6mm in thickness at the outside edge. The inside, perforated edge is 39.92mm thick and 62.39mm wide. The outer edge of the circumference quern is smooth through wear and contains black marks along the lower surviving edge.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman spoon dating to c. AD 43 - 410. The handle is missing. The bowl is almond shaped with a length of 38.91mm, maximum width of 24.63mm and a thickness of 1.28mm. It weighs 4.22g. The back of the bowl has a slight elevated section 29.71mm long and 2.9mm wide. This is the section of handle attached to the back of the bowl.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman knee brooch of the tubular headed type dating to c. AD 150 - 250. The spring mechanism, wings, upper bow and horizontal catchplate are missing. It measures 24.76mm in length and weighs 3.66g. The bow extends from the break in an accentuated curve, the upper half of the bow is missing. It is rectangular in section with width 10.64mm and thickness 2.11mm. the lower section of the bow survives and tapers from a horizontal ridge to the projecting foot. The surviving section of the foot is D shaped, the catch plate would have projected from the reverse.…

Robert Kenyon, following on from the work by the French scholars P-A. Besombes and M. Bompaire (in Trésors Monétaires XXI, 2005), is working through the British examples of Claudian coinage recorded through the PAS assigning many so-called Claudian contemporary copies to Roman auxiliary mints which operated at Lyons (Gaul) and in Spain. This example is a native copy.

A sherd from the rim of a wheel thrown Roman Samian type vessel dating to c AD 40-80. The outer face of the sherd is plain. The outer rim face is decroated with parallel vertical lines and a protuding edge 17.05mm from the tope edge, it is 3.37mm wide and protudes out with a thickness of 4.95mm. The fabric is oxidised orange-red colour with gloss slip with fleck of limestone inclusions. The edges show areas of reduced brown colour. The fragment weighs 31.02g. It measures 100mm in diameter, 3.94mm in width and 50.51mm in height. Similar to Dragendorff 24/25.

The outer edge of the sherd is decorated with the top half of an archer right arm raised with braid and draperary border above, a single flower on either side of archer. The fabric is oxidised orange-red colour with gloss slip with fleck of limestone inclusions and areas of reducted brown colour. The vertical layers of the fabric can be seen on the top edge. An incomplete copper alloy Roman finger ring Henig type II dating to AD 43-200. The finger ring comprises of the bezel and the shoulders; the hoop and gem are missing. The hoop of the ring is sub-circular and widens towards the shoulders which are D shaped and the ring has a raised oval central panel. The shoulder measures 8.34mm wide, 1.49mm thick and 6.61mm in length then thickerns and narrows to 4.29mm wide and 2.52mm thick. The external measurements of the raised panel are 12.38mm x 9.85mm. The internal measurements of the raised panel are 9.41mm x 6.97mm. Weighs 3.32g.
