A gold Iron Age stater of Catti of the Dobunni tribe dating to c. AD 1 - 20. Obverse depicts the Tree of Life and the reverse depicts triple tailed horse above a wheel. The inscription 'CATTI' is visible on the reverse.
The Dobunni were an Iron Age tribe with a range of rulers. Often rulers had similar coins but changed specific details. The details changed include: shape of the horse's head; the obverse type; the number of pellets surrounding the horse; the inscription above the horse.
Likely to be be a gold plated copper alloy copy due to the rose-gold colouring.
