An incomplete copper alloy Roman Colchester one-piece brooch dating to the period c. AD20 - 100. The pin, spring, part of the head, lower section of bow and the catchplate are missing. The brooch measures 36.44mm in length, 7.66mm maximum width, 4.24mm minimum width, is 3.04mm thick and weighs 3.58g. The head exhibits the wings rectangular in cross section, measuring 3.9 wide 2.43 high and 1.87mm thick. An incomplete Roman copper alloy Hod Hill brooch, of the bottom section of the bow and catchplate. It measures 45.96mm in length and weighs 3.34 grams. The bow is incomplete, the surviving section is broadly rectangular in plan before tapering to the foot. The top part of the bow is decorated with a central vertical rib flanked by two vertical grooves. Below is a further horizontal groove and a horizontal rib.
