A worn and damaged post medieval coin, probably a silver-plated contemporary copy of a testoon of Henry VIII (AD 1509 - 1547). The legend is illegible and the obverse is very worn, however a bust of Henry VIII can just be made out. The reverse shows a crown over the Tudor rose. Probably minted in London in AD 1544 - 1547 (North 1841). The coin is damaged with a jagged break and part of the flan folded over. The plating is visible at the break. Diameter 31 mm, thickness 1 mm and weight 4.3 g.

A gold post-medieval half-angel of Mary I (AD 1553-1558), dating to the period AD 1553-1554. Pomegranate privy mark. M and Rose beside mast on reverse (North, 1994(2): 1959). The coin has a pronounced crease across the flan, in line with the spear of the archangel. It has not been established whether the coin has been unfolded. A raking light reveals a fainter crease or dent line bisecting this, producing a cross. Diameter: 21.5mm, weight: 2.5g.
