A fragment from a vessel, probably a jug or a small amphora of Roman date, circa Ad 43-410.  The fragment consists of a small section of rim and body that contains the remains of the handle. The remains of the handle have a width of 42.3 mm. The fabric is a cream colour with frequent inclusions between 1 to 2 mm in size. The fabric is abraded in the internal surface.  The fragment measures 63.2 mm in height, 61.1 mm in width, 19 mm in thickness and weighs 57.4 grams.

The pot leg is smaller in width at the top where it would have attached to the vessel. The sides then flare out to the foot which has a flat underside. A Medieval or Post Medieval (12th to mid 19th centuries) leg from a cooking vessel such as a cauldron or skillet. The leg has a broadly triangular cross section with an oval foot and slightly damaged upper edge. The internal face is flat and the external face has a rounded outer edge to resemble a foot.
