A complete knapped lithic implement of probably the Neolithic to Bronze Age period, dating from c.4000BC - c. 800BC. The object is probably a secondary flake removed from a larger core, and then subjected to further working. The object is broadly semi circular in plan and triangular in section. Around 30% of the cortex still remains on the left side of the dorsal face. The dorsal face shows evidence of striking from multiple platforms for the removal of small flakes or chips at varying angles. An incomplete copper alloy and enamel umbonate disc brooch of the Roman period, dating from c. AD 100 to c. AD 250. Approximately 45% of the brooch is present, consisting of the central conical boss, part of the rim and the catchplate. The rest of the rim, and pin are missing presumed lost in antiquity. A body sherd of a Roman large, probable imitation, Samian Ware bowl (similar to Dragondorf Type 38) dating to the 2nd Century AD. The body sherd has a protruding rectangular rim decoration, this decoration has been used to measure the potential diameter of the vessel, which is estimated to be 340 mm. The rim sherd consists of a local fabric known as Derbyshire Ware, dating from the 2nd to 3rd Centuries AD. The sherd probably originally came from a jar type vessel.
