An incomplete copper alloy and enamel Finger Ring of the Roman period, dating from c. AD 43 - c. AD 250. Around 45% of the ring remains, comprising of the bezel and shoulders only, the hoop is missing, presumed broken in antiquity. The bezel is broadly oval in plan and rectangular in section, the cell of the bezel has been filled with a deep blue enamel or glass. The patina on the enamel has been worn away and only remains in a few places around the edge of the object.
