Rounded at one end, broken at the other, and tapering slightly towards the broken end. Mark from hammering or abrasion close to the broken end, and pitted along much of the surface. The finger ring comprises a rectangular bezel and a D-shaped sectioned hoop. A complete gold signet finger ring of the Post Medieval period, probably dating from c. AD 1500 - c. AD 1700. The ring is broadly circular in plan and D shaped in section. There is an oval bezel at the top that is raised slightly. The bezel has been decorated with an incised cipher depicting the letters 'AV' that are interlocked. An incomplete, gold and silver alloy, Medieval, possible halfpenny of Richard II (AD 1377 - AD 1399), or Richard III (AD 1483 - AD 1485). This coin could also be a contemporary copy or continental sterling copy. Long cross reverse type, with three pellets in each quarter. The obverse depicts a bifoliate crowned bust facing. The coin has been damaged, and is bent towards the obverse.
