A complete copper alloy commemorative medal of the post-medieval period, dating to the reign of Queen Victoria (AD 1837 - AD 1901). Medal made to commemorate the Fiftieth Year of Victoria's reign in the year AD 1887. The obverse depicts the crowned bust of the Queen facing left, the reverse depicts a castle which is flanked by two shields of the arms of England. The inscription reads: "[Victoria] Queen of Great Brita[in and Ireland * Duke of Lancaster; Lancaster Storey.Major *] [In Commemoratio]n of t[he fiftieth] year of her [majesty's reign]." 21st June 1887.
