A complete, copper alloy half penny trade token of the Post Medieval period dating from AD 1660 - AD 1669. Obverse: Heavily worn and corroded, design is illegible, inscription is illegible. Reverse: HIS HALF PENY in field in three lines, dated 166[ ] below. Inscription: [ ]BORO[ ] Token coinage from this period is common as there was a shortage of small change so local traders would strike their own coins. Diameter: 17.9 mm Thickness: 0.8 mm Weight: 0.6 g Token is heavily corroded and much of the patina on the obverse is missing.
