An incomplete, gold and silver alloy, Medieval, possible halfpenny of Richard II (AD 1377 - AD 1399), or Richard III (AD 1483 - AD 1485). This coin could also be a contemporary copy or continental sterling copy. Long cross reverse type, with three pellets in each quarter. The obverse depicts a bifoliate crowned bust facing. The coin has been damaged, and is bent towards the obverse. Mint uncertain. Diameter: 8.1 mm Thickness: 1.3 mm Weight: 0.2 g The coin has a very small flan. These coins are often refered to as minims. The coin is a very crude copy as parts of the design are missing and the bust is facing the wrong way.
