A complete, copper alloy thimble of the Post Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1730 - AD 1800. The thimble is beehive/domed in shape and circular in plan at the base. A series of circular holes or dimples have been punched into the surface of the thimble in nine concentric circles. The top has a cross hatched (waffle) design, with square depressions or dimples punched in. There is a narrow ridge at the base of the thimble. The thimble measures 13.2 mm high and has a maximum diameter at the base of 13.1 mm. It has a thickness of 0.9 mm at the walls, and weighs 2.6 g. The thimb…

In plan, the jews harp consists of a sub circular head, and two tapering arms, both with the characteristic lozenge cross section. The arms are complete.
