A probably complete circular mount of probably the Roman to Post Medieval period, dating from c. AD 43 - c. AD 1500. The mount is circular in plan and irregular in section. It consists of a central circular mound with a central circular depression or perforation. This is surrounded by two evenly spaced, concentric, raised circles with a semi circular depressed circle in between each. The reverse echoes the design on the front of the object. There appears to be no evidence of attachment spikes on the reverse. The mount measures 14.9 mm in diameter, and has a thickness of 1.7 mm. It…

An incomplete enamelled copper alloy heraldic horse harness mount, of probably the medieval period, dating from AD 1200 to AD 1400. The harness mount is an elaborate quatrefoil shape. A lion with one paw raised and advancing left is present in the centre raised square, with debased fleur de lis (lys) on the straight edges of the quatrefoil.
