The object is circular in plan and broadly D shape in section. There is a broadly circular perforation through the object, cast slightly off centre. The top of the object is domed slightly and there is a crack on the edge of the perforation. The side of the object are flat and not decorated. The base is flat. The weight is roughly formed, being conical with a broadly circular, indented base. The base has two kidney shaped depressions in the surface, the centre of one has a oval perforation, with a type of material embedded. There is another oval perforation in between the kidney shaped depressions. These may be the remains of a suspension loop, however this is not clear. The weight is conical in shape, with gently tapering (sloping) sides, with a rounded edge at the base forming a ridge. A circular perforation is present in the top of the weight, at the apex and travels through to the base and is slightly of centre. A recess is present in the base, and as a result the base is slightly concave.
It measures 30.5mm tall, with a base diameter of 24.9 mm and a top diameter of 8.2 mm. It weighs 66.0 g (2.33 oz).

The object is probably a secondary flake removed from a larger core, and then subjected to further working. The object is broadly semi circular in plan and triangular in section. An incomplete lead or lead alloy bi convex spindle whorl, of the Roman to Post Medieval period, dating from c.AD 43 - c.AD 1650.
The spindle whorl is broadly circular in plan and lentoid in section. The central hole is circular in shape and has been cast / set slightly off centre. It has a internal diameter of 7.4 mm. Due to the level of abrasion, it is hard to determine any original decoration on the upper and lower faces.
The whorl measures 44.2 mm in diameter and is 7.7 mm thick. It weighs 35.5 g (1.25 oz).

The central hole is broadly circular in shape and has been cast slightly off central and is wider on the lower face than the upper face. The internal diameter of the hole measures 3.8 mm wide (lower face) and 3.1 mm (upper face). The upper face is domed and the lower face is flat. No traces of decoration are present on either the upper or lower faces.

The mount is circular in plan and irregular in section. It consists of a central circular mound with a central circular depression or perforation. This is surrounded by two evenly spaced, concentric, raised circles with a semi circular depressed circle in between each. The reverse echoes the design on the front of the object. There appears to be no evidence of attachment spikes on the reverse.
