The upper part of a Medieval copper alloy ring seal dating to the 15th century AD. The band is D shaped in cross section with flat inner side and convex outer and terminates in an old break on either side of the bezel at 12.80mm. The portion of the band expands evenly at the shoulders to meet the bezel which is oval in plan. The bezel is decorated with an incised design of an oval frame containing a letter R with a simple crown above and small lines or possible leaves around the sides of the R. A probably late Medieval or post-medieval copper alloy finger ring possibly dating from cAD1400 - 1700. The ring has a flat circular bezel engraved with a broad indented central line with a narrower crescent line at either end. An indent to one side of the central line appears to be a burst bubble made during casting. The rest of the ring is plain with shoulders than narrow gradually away form the bezel and a slightly pointed oval cross section to the hoop with a convex outer side and shallowly convex inner face. A complete Medieval copper alloy ring seal dating to the 15th century AD. The band is semi-circular in cross section and expands slightly and evenly at the shoulders to meet the bezel which is oval in shape. The bezel is decorated with a single incised border. In the centre is a capital letter I flanked on either side and at the top of the I by a pattern of palms. There is no sign on either shoulder to indicate the orientation of the design on the seal matrix. The ring has a shiny dark brown/black patina. The object has a central circular plate, very slightly convex with a hollow back. There is a small sewing loop on either side of the old break where a hook or rectangular loop would have originally projected, one sewing loop is also broken. A corroded but complete shield-shaped cast copper-alloy harness pendant dating from c.AD1200 - 1400. Main body of the pendant is shield shaped with a flat top, and convex curved sides which converge to a point at the bottom. An early-medieval cast copper alloy strap-end, classified as Thomas's (2003, 2) Class A, Type 2. This would date the artefact to around the 9th century AD. The strap-end is flat in profile and sub rectangular with slightly convex sides and squared off zoomorphic terminal. The plate narrows from a width of 10.56mm at the widest point to a width of 6.20mm at the base. Post Medieval cast copper alloy clasp with openwork design. This is the attachment end of either a hooked section or an eye section of a two part clasp. The main plate is heart shaped with two open circles at the top joined by a V shaped piece the upper ends of which abut the circles. At the top projects a flat oval knop with perforation for a now missing rivet. The lower point of the V is missing from an old break. A copper alloy post medieval buckle dating to the period cAD1600 - 1720. The double loop oval shaped buckle has rounded ends and trefoil sides with a raised ridge either end of the strap bar, which is narrowed. The buckle measures 41.6mm in length, 25.2mm in width and weighs 4.38g. A similar example can be found in Whitehead (2003) p 70, no. 440, which he dates to AD 1600-1720.
