A Roman copper alloy As of Hadrian dating to AD119 (Reece period 6). Reverse type PONT.MAX.TR.POT.COS.III.S.C. Britannia seated facing right, foot on rock, resting head on right hand and holding sceptre, large shield to right. RIC II p 412, no. 577a; BMC 1174; Walker, p. 291, nos. 1-39, pl. XXXI. This is a Coin of British Association, 39 examples being found in the Sacred Spring at Bath (Walker, 1988, Bath Coin Report, p. 291).
