A lead weight of probable medieval date (c. AD 1200 - 1500). The weight is square with a rectangular cross-section. It exhibits a design of an integrally cast plain cross in relief on the obverse surface. The reverse is undecorated. Plain lead weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards for a wide variety of uses and can be difficult to date precisely, although most date to the late medieval - post medieval period. The date range suggested by the identifier is based on the design on the obverse. Length 42.7mm, width 37.7mm, thickness 10.6mm and weight 1.14g. …

An incomplete copper-alloy strainer of medieval to post-medieval date (c. AD 1250 - 1700). The strainer is formed of a disc of copper-alloy sheet metal which has been perforated by hand from one side using a broadly circular punch for the holes. The perforations are arranged in lines and are of almost uniform size. There is a slot at each side, one of which contains a copper alloy strip to hold it in place over the mouth of the vessel. Diameter 24.1mm, thickness 1.4mm and weight 2.41g. Similar examples are known from the medieval period onwards, such as Egan (1998, 158) fig. 1…

A post medieval copper alloy vessel leg dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1700. The leg is broken off just above a transverse collar with an old break. The prominent collar is rounded in section with worn remains of a cable pattern. The foot has five raised ribs running down the front and expands towards the base. The base of the foot is rounded. The piece is now is 38.2mm long, 26.9mm wide and 18.2mm thick; it weighs 76.62 grams. Cf. Butler et al, 2009, p. 6, Fig.4c.

A copper alloy foot from a medieval to post medieval cooking pot (c. AD 1400 - 1700). The leg is sub lenticular in cross-section and terminates in a worn break. It expands in width and thickness to form the foot which projects at an angle of c. 50 degrees from the leg. There is a green-brown patina on the surface. It is 39.047mm in length, 30.23mm in width, 27.19mm in thickness at the foot and 14.46mm in thickness at the leg. Butler et al suggest that this form was widespread in the Medieval period, but examples are known into the early 17th century. Cf. Butler et. al, 2009, p.6…

An incomplete medieval to post medieval lead alloy (pewter) spoon dating to the period c.AD 1450-1550. The stem has a worn break at one terminal, is hexagonal in cross-section and is quite worn so it is not possible to detirmine the presence of any collars before it expands to a globular knop at its terminal. This knop is hexagonal in cross-section and has a central end pellet. The spoon is mid grey in colour.
