A late Medieval to post medieval copper alloy French jetton dating c. 1490 to 1525. The obverse has a large V flanked by small tefoils and the reverse has cross pattee with a stemmed flower in each quarter. The obverse inscription reads SIT [IIOIIIEII]I and the reverse inscription is SIT [IIOIIIIII]I BO[IIIIIII]OVI.
Mernick and Algar (2001:239) no.185 give an example of this type of jetton. Mitchiner (1988:732-734) states that the letter V stands for Virgo and represents the Virgin Mary and suggests the date of c. 1497 - c. 1521.

Post medieval copper alloy coin or jetton or token of uncertain state, possibly the Low Countries or Germany, dating to 1566.
The piece has an unclear, possibly nonsense legend on the obverse with the figure of a standing archer. The reverse has a cross fleuretty and an unclear legend with the date 1566.
The general style seems similar to 16th century jettons of Nuremburg and to some low denomination coins of the Low Counties and adjacent terrirories but it is not currently possible to identify it from the books to hand.
