An incomplete Roman copper alloy developed T-shaped hinged brooch probably dating to AD75 - 150. Only the wings and upper part of the bow remain. The wings are chipped at each end but nearly complete and have a pattern across the front of a single incised diagonal line about halfway along and a pair of incised lines at the end. The broken ends are filled with white cement to hold the hinge bar. There is a slot through the centre of the back of the head in which the pin would have hinged. Post medieval copper alloy double-looped buckle, of which only one loop survives, dating to the period AD1250 - 1500. The remaining loop is oval with a constricted pin rest flanked by collars in the centre of the outer side of the loop. There are patinated breaks where the other loop was attached to the strap bar. There is a lobed knop at either end of the strap bar. The pin is missing. The buckle has a shiny green patina but the back is plain. Post Medieval copper alloy buckle frame dating to the period cAD1550 - 1650. The double oval looped frame has a moulded shell like knop in the centre of each loop and a small knop at each end of the narrowed strap bar. The shell shaped knops have convex curved outer edges and converge to an inner point that projects into the loop slightly. Fragment of a two part lead cloth seal. Part of the ring, disk and plug between them survives. It is stamped on both sides. Obverse: Crown over shield of England, the inscription is very worn but would have read [S'VLII'PAO'VIALLE'LON']. Reverse: ornate shield with equal armed cross, each arm made of thee lines, with sword in the first quarter (arms of London) L[ONDINI PRO PANNIS LANI]CIS. The main plate was originally sub-rectangular with a rectangular curut out from one upper corner and a curved cut out on the opposite edge leading to a rounded lower corner. Medieval or post-medieval copper alloy lozenge shaped mount probably dating from the early 15th century to the 17th century. The surface is completely covered in a pattern of multiple pellets. The back is plain with the central integral spike being broken close to the plate. The piece has a shiny green patina. It measures 24.19mm in length, 14.93mm in width, 2.64mm in thickness and weighs 2.73g. A similar example in Read (2001:32) no. 253 has been dated to cAD1350-1400. However the form is also similar to mounts and studs with integral rivets dated to the 17th century.

An incomplete Medieval (1350 - 1450 AD) copper alloy oval, lipped buckle frame of Meols Type 4, missing its pin. The bar is slightly flattened, narrowed and offset. The slightly expanded point (lip) in the centre of the outer edge of the frame has an incised transverse notch for the pin. The buckle measures 17.79mm in length, 15.03mm in width, 1.79mm in thickness and weighs 0.83g. Similar buckle frames from London (Egan & Pritchard 1991: 70, nos.279-283) date between AD 1350 and 1450.

Medieval copper alloy casket key dating from the late 12th to early 14th century. It has a lozenge shaped bow with a circular cnetral hole and a solid oval cross sectioned shank with a projecting pin at the end. There is a slight expanded knop on both faces of the shank at the junction with the bow. The bit is solid and broadly rectangular in form with an indent in the side closer to the terminal. The key measures 32.79mm in length, 9.70mm in width at the bow, 1.55mm in thickness and weighs 1.88g. A similar example can be found in Read (2001:72) no. 558 which he dates to the late …

An incomplete Early Medieval copper alloy strap end of Thomas' Class B, type 1, dating to c. AD 775-1100. The strap end is broadly tongue shaped in plan, tapering from 9.2mm in width at its widest point into a zoomorphic terminal, 6.3mm wide and with a projecting square ended knop at the tip. It has moulded decoration forming a small chevron pattern above the knop and a larger one behind this. The strap end is broadly sub-rectangular in cross section with a flat reverse but slightly domed upper corners, although not to the extent that it could be termed D-shape. It is 3.9mm thick. …
