A worn Roman copper alloy probable As of an uncertain emperor, probably Antonine, dating to c. AD 138-161 (Reece Period 7). Uncertain reverse type, depicting Salus standing left feeding a snake rising from an altar at her feet. Uncertain mint.
The coin has been pierced at 10 o'clock on the reverse, just behind the bust. The area around the piercing is concave and it would appear the coin had probably been nailed to something.
