An incomplete Roman silver denarius of Septimus Severus (AD 193-211), probably dating to the period AD 200-201 (Reece period 10). Probably [RESTITVTO]R-[VRBI]S reverse type depicting Severus standing left holding vertical sceptre and sacrificing over an altar. Mint of Rome. Cf. BMC p. 194, no. 203 passim. There is a relatively fresh break running between 11 and 6 o'clock, with c.45% of the flan missing.
