A Post-Medieval silver seal matrix, dating to c. AD 1650-1750. The matrix consists of a flat, ovate swiveling bezel held on a spindle within a C-shaped frame. The frame is surmounted by an elaborate handle: this has a perforated loop at its apex, and the bar of the handle is flanked by scrolling volutes. Both faces of the bezel are decorated, one engraved with a depiction of a rose within a beaded border, the other two clasped hands surmounted by a flaming heart pierced by an arrow, flanked by the initials I C [in the imprinted orientation].
Dimensions: c. 30-35mm by c. 20mm.

An incomplete Medieval silver gilt finger ring, in three pieces, dating to c. AD 1400-1500 . The hoop is narrow and sub-rectangular in cross section, the outside face is decorated with a series of incised oblique lines which create a continuous zig-zag around the hoop. The finger ring had an applied bezel, comprising of two of the three fragments. This was lozengiform, with an applied pellet surviving in two of the three extant corners. A Post-Medieval silver gilt jewellery fitting or devotional object, comprising of two gilded and modified half-groats of Henry VIII, dating to c. 1533-1544. The edges of the two coins are folded together to create a hollow, lozengiform bead, with the angles of the fold creating a longitudinal perforation through the bead. In both cases, the reverse of the coin faces outward. The coins used are as follows:

A post-medieval silver button, probably one element from a cufflink. The button is circular in plan, flat with a downturned edge and flat rim. The disc has been stamped with a design of two hearts surmounted by a single crown on top of a stippled background. The scar left by a lost wire loop is visible on the reverse.
Dimensions: Diameter c. 16.3mm; Weight 0.78g.
Discussion: Cufflinks were first introduced in the latter half of the 17th century, and those depicting crowned hearts are conventionally assumed to commemorate the marriage of Charles II and Catherine of Braganza in 1…

Description: A Medieval silver annular brooch. The brooch is symmetrical along its longitudinal axis, divided by a constriction for the pin at one side and a narrow elliptical boss at the other end. The latter has a short groove at its apex. Either side of the frame is decorated with three raised collects positioned equidistantly, two of these retain a translucent pink (rose quartz?) cabochon setting, whilst two more retain vestigial remains of a white cement.
