Silver gilt posy-ring. The hoop is of flattened D cross-section. The outer surface is plain, and very worn (having lost its original gilding). The gilding is well preserved inside the hoop. The inner face of the hoop is inscribed with the text Keep faith ˖ tell death, in italic script. Internal hoop diameter 19 mm; band width 5.5mm; band thickness 1.3mm; weight 3.45g. The ring has not undergone any cleaning or conservation. Five fragments of silver badge in the form of a cockerel, made in repoussé technique out of thin sheet metal, and externally engraved to provide crisp details of feathers and wings. There are the remains of four wire attachment loops soldered to the reverse, one at the back of the head, one on the tail, and to on the 'ground' the cockerel stands on. There is a plain scroll running beneath the cockerel's breast engraved with the motto Si deus nobis/cum ('If God if for us, [who can be against us?]' - Romans 8.31) in neat lower case italic script. The find comprises sixteen silver coins: thirteen English groats, 1352/3-1526/9; one half-groat of Henry VII (1485-1509); and two double patards from the Burgundian Netherlands (1467-74). No associated items were reported. The latest coins in the group (nos 11-14) all belong to the early years of Henry VIII's second coinage, struck between 1526 and 1529, giving a consistent terminus in the late 1520s. Decorative gold posy-ring. The hoop is of flattened D cross-section. The outer surface is cast with a repeating pattern of hearts chased for translucent red enamel between smaller circular elements similarly chased for opaque white enamel ('pearls') and translucent green enamel. Post medieval copper alloy hinged mould probably of 17th or 18th century date. The mould is of hinged type and is incomplete, missing one of the handles and with the other truncated (with a surviving length of 44.5mm and a weight of 11.2g). The surviving handle is integral and of a consistent circular-section (with a diameter of 2.8mm and a surviving length of 26mm). Post medieval lead inkwell of 17th to 18th century date The inkwell is complete with some surface damage (with a length of 44.0mm and a weight of 254.8g). The base is flat and sub-circular with nine bold ribs (giving a diameter of 40.6mm - 13.0mm).
