Copper alloy looped mount, probably of Roman date The cast mount comprises a sub-circular loop on an integral domed base (with an overall length of 40.3mm and a weight of 38.3g). The loop (35.1mm wide x28.6mm high external and 23.9mm wide and 20.2mm high internal) is circular sectioned (5 - 6mm diameter) and is undecorated. There is a slight suggestion of wear facets on the interior of the top of the loop, which if correct, would seem to suggest strap-rubbing.
