Gold decorative ring with central spine of very fine raised pellets, between two raised plain borders. The inside of the hoop is plain. Internal hoop diameter 17.6mm; band width 3.8mm; band thickness 0.6mm; weight 1.76g. The ring has not undergone any cleaning or conservation. The form of the ring is similar to that of some fifteenth-century gold posy rings which have pelleted bands enclosing mottoes or poesies (such as a ring from Chinnor, Oxfordshire ref. no. 2010T660). Decorative gold posy-ring. The hoop is of flattened D cross-section. The outer surface is cast with a repeating pattern of hearts chased for translucent red enamel between smaller circular elements similarly chased for opaque white enamel ('pearls') and translucent green enamel. Most of this enamel is now missing. The inner face of the hoop is inscribed with the text: My (heart symbol) is onely yours, in italic script.
