The tag had a rectangular attachment loop at one end, now distorted. At the centre is a circular boss (4.0mm diameter) with cast decoration comprising a raised concentric knurled ring, inside of which are five raised ring-and-dot motifs at the centre. Medieval lead cloth seal The seal is of uncertain form and the fragmentary remains of two discs are represented, now oval (with a surviving, length of 18.7mm, a surviving width of 13.0mm, a depth of 4.0mm and a weight of 4.3g). The face has a partial inscription preserved: EDWA[ ], indicating Edward, within a beaded border and the device at the centre has a trefoil at the apex, possibly a component of a crown but little of the device now survives.

The disc has a crown above a harp and flanked each side by C - R, probably indicating an Irish alnage seal of Charles I (1625-49) or possibly Charles II (1660-1685). The rear is plain.
