The cast terret is of double-looped (strap-mounted) form, is incomplete and eroded, missing the basal loop (with an overall surviving length of 50.2mm and a weight of 24.1g). The brooch is fragmentary, represented by the head and upper-bow only (with a surviving length of 21.5mm, a surviving depth of 8.9mm and a weight of 3.4g). The brooch employed a spring mechanism, now lost secured between lateral lugs, now truncated (with a width of 16.9mm) with the chord tensioned by a hook at the head. Roman copper alloy bow brooch of Crossbow variant type and of 3rd or 4th century date
The brooch is fragmentary, missing the pin, most of the foot and the end of one arm (with a surviving length of 64.0mm and a weight of 7.4g). The pin was hinged within sub-circular cylindrical arms formed by rolled sheet copper alloy (with a surviving length of 42.3mm and a diameter of 5.2mm - 6.1mm). Copper alloy bridle fitting of uncertain date, probably Late Iron Age to Early Roman, possibly 1st or 2nd century AD
The fitting is probably a bridle link from either a two or three-link bridle bit and is near complete but is heavily worn and corroded (with a surviving length of 56.0mm and a weight of 21.3g).
