Possible copper alloy plate from a brooch of uncertain type, possibly Roman The object comprises a fragmentary and distorted circular disc of sheet metal (with a maximum distorted diameter of 34.2mm, a thickness of 0.1mm and a weight of 2.4g). The rear has what appears to be an integral catch-plate adjacent to the edge (with a depth of 7.8mm and a length of 6.2mm). There is the possible suggestion that the plate has broken across a central hole. There is no decoration evident on the surface but there appears to be remnants of tinned or silvered surface on the front of plate. Else…

Copper alloy enamelled mount, probably of Roman date, possibly 2nd or 3rd century The mount is of circular form and would have had six integral radiating wires of rectangular section, one fragmentary example now survives (giving an overall surviving width of 21.9mm, a weight of 3.1g; with a surviving rod length of 4.8mm, a width of 1.2mm and a thickness of 1.4mm). The base is circular (with a diameter of 7.5mm) with a stepped moulding, which the six rods are equally spaced around. Copper alloy blade tip, possibly a tip from a spearhead of Bronze Age date The object is represented by the tip only (with a surviving length of 16.9mm and a weight of 2.1g). The break is old and the tip is of lozenge section at the break (with a maximum width of 11.5mm and a maximum thickness of 4.5mm). The blade edges have been lost but the blade appears to be straight and convergent to the tip. Both faces have a prominent rounded midrib continuing to the tip. Copper alloy bow brooch of unusual form and possibly of Roman date, c. 1st or 2nd century AD date but also possibly a modern pastiche The brooch is near complete, missing the pin (with a length of 55.5mm, a depth of 20.7mm and a weight of 6.5g) and has been forged from a copper alloy strip rather than cast. The missing pin was hinged within a rolled head, comprising the bow simply turned internally with a slot to accommodate the pin.
