A complete copper alloy medieval to post medival strap fitting or button. The head of the fitting is biconvex in shape, and each half of the head has eight flat sides. There is a central knop on the top of the head. The stem and loop are integral and extend from the flat back of the head. The stem is rectangular in cross section, and widens slightly towards the loop.The loop is circular and measures 4.1mm in diameter. A complete medieval copper alloy buckle with composite plate. The buckle frame is oval in shape, with the outer edge widening and forming a triangular point in the centre. The outer edges of the frame are bevelled, and the frame is triangular in cross section. The forked spacer is covered by a rectangular copper alloy sheet folded over. This measures 13.1mm by 14.4mm. An incomplete copper alloy Roman (AD 43- 410) 'hook and eye' type bracelet, consisting of the eyelet and probably just less than half of the bracelet, ending in an old break. The bracelet retains its curved 'C' shape. The eyelet is rectangular with rounded corners at the terminal end, it is perforated with a sub circular hole for attaching to the now missing hook. Below this is a grooved line, with a raised moulded rectangle creating a collar to the eyelet. The brooch consists of the length of the bow, and is missing the pin and axis bar, part of the wings and most of the foot. An incomplete Roman copper alloy T-shaped brooch with hinge mechanism dating AD c.50-150, missing it's pin and terminal end. The tubular wings span 19.5mm with the bow projecting from the centre. One of the wings may have been broken, and there is white concretion in the end. A complete silver post medieval bodkin dating from the 17th century. The bodkin has been bent in two places at almost 90 degrees, both close to the (sharp) point. In shape it has a rounded terminal end 4.2mm wide and narrows to point, 0.6mm wide. The bodkin is hexagonal in cross section and has a longitudinal rectangular slot and a circular hole at the terminal end. There is no decoration on the bodkin. The silver has patinated to a green brown colour, the original silver colour showing up in patches.

The ring is flat and rectangular in cross section. The inner edge of the ring is bevelled. The width of the ring varies from 2.2mm to 3.9mm. The narrower parts of the ring are directly opposite suggesting that the ring was used to attach or hold something and has worn at this point. Two copper alloy studs or hob nails, found close together. The heads are conical in shape and c.4mm long, being slightly concave to the underside from where the square-sectioned shank extends. All have smooth, shiny patinas of mid to light green in colour.

A Late Medieval/ Early Post-Medieval Venetian silver soldino of Doge Leonardo Loredan (1501-1521). It is worn and has a die axis of 8. On the reverse to the left of the figure there is an 'X' scratched onto the coin.
During the 15th and 16th centuries the English economy experienced a serious shortage of English-struck halfpennies. In order to fill this gap people began using foreign coinage such as the soldino, meaning 'little shilling', which entered into English currency through Venetian traders.

There are three projections from the lower edge of the bit, these are worn and are a sub triangular shape. The key is corroded and is a dark orangey brown colour. The bit measures 15.2mm by 11.2mm. The harp consists of a rounded C-shaped end which extends to two prongs, which would have rested in the mouth. There is a groove on the centre of the rounded end where the tongue would have attached. It is lozenge shaped in cross section. The iron of the harp is corroded, and is a dark orangey brown colour. The harp measures 60.8mm in length, 31.6mm in width, and is 7.3mm at maximum thickness. The prongs measure 36.2mm and 20.8mm in length. The harp weighs 19.55g.

One side is decorated with eight equidistant arms radiating from the centre, creating a cartwheel pattern. The token has been damaged and has a fold in the centre. The reverse is probably undecorated. The token is an irregular circular shape with uneven edges. It is a white-grey colour. The token measures 24.4mm in length, 21.7mm in width, 3.1mm in thickness and weighs 7.69g.

On the shoulders underneath the bow there are three decorative collars which are worn. The stem extends to a projecting pin below the bit which is narrow, rectangular and uncut. The key is a dark brown colour with patches of green and pink corrosion.

Part of a post-medieval (1500-1700) lead-alloy seal cloth consisting of disc one. Part of the squashed rivet remains on the reverse of disc one, and a small part of the connecting strip on one edge. The seal disc is circular, and the edges have been bent out of shape, though the disc is complete. Disc two is missing. The seal depicts a swan standing left (from the viewer's perspective) in low relief, with the letters MES on the left and *V on the right.

A complete pair of copper-alloy tweezers possibly Roman in date, however a medieval date cannot be ruled out. The tweezers are made from a single sheet of copper alloy which has been folded over on itself at a defined loop to form a sprung end. The arms of the tweezers flare out gradually along the length (3.5mm at the loop end, 5mm at the tip); these have been bent out of alignment. The tweezers are rectangular in cross section. There is no decoration. The tweezers are 49.6mm in length, 0.9mm in thickness and weigh 3.43g.

The cleaner terminates with two prongs; the central perforation is triangular in shape. There are horizontal lines running across the width on both sides of the nail cleaner, immediately below the break, this is probably remains of decoration. The fragment is rectangular in cross-section and measures 21mm in length, 5.3mm in width and is 1.7mm thick. It weighs 0.89g.

A post-medieval (1500-1700) copper alloy sword belt fitting, incomplete in so far as it is missing its rivet. The object comprises a triangular plate with rounded corners at the short edge, a rounded knop (flat to the reverse) extending from the third corner and a trefoliate terminal extending from the centre of the short edge. An incomplete copper alloy oval buckle frame of post medieval date (c.1650-1720), missing its pin. It has a narrow central pin bar which is rectangular in cross section. The outside edge of the buckle frame curves gradually externally and the frame is triangular in cross section (being flat to the underside). The buckle has no decoration.
The patina is smooth and shiny and a light green colour. The buckle measures in 19.9mm length, and 17.4mm in width. It is 2.5mm thick and weighs 1.9g.

A medieval (c.1250-1400) copper alloy circular seal matrix with a pierced D-shaped lug to the reverse. To the opposite (front) face it depicts a double-barred cross pattée (known variously as the Cross of Lorraine, an archiepiscopal cross, a patriarchal cross and a symbol of the Crusades) clutched in a hand extending from a sleeve, set at right angles to the vertical section of the cross. An incomplete copper alloy Roman (AD 50-150) Colchester derivative ('dolphin' type) brooch, missing half of its spring mechanism and the pin, and the lower bow and catchplate.
The wings are C-shaped in cross section and decorated to the front with a transverse groove at either open end, to either side of the bow, and a diagonal groove between. Both open ends have a small amount of recent damage. The ends have possibly been broken and have evidence of an old break. The brooch is circular and flat, measuring 1.8mm thick. At the centre there is a copper alloy circle surrounded by a red enamel ring. Around this is a copper alloy ring and beyond eight copper alloy pellets on a black enamel background. The edge comprises a copper alloy rim. To one place, the surface has been bent and damaged, and the enamel is missing at this point.

An incomplete late Roman (AD 350-450) copper alloy zoomorphic buckle frame of Hawkes and Dunning type IB, missing its pin. The frame is D-shaped and formed of two confronted dolphins, surmounted on the outside edge by a pair of outwards-facing horse-heads perched on their crests. The horse-heads have faceted edges to the front while the reverse is flat. The buckle frame itself has a curving edge to the front, and is flat to the back (D-shaped cross-section).

An incomplete cast copper alloy probably Post Medieval buckle, c. 1550-1650. The frame has a slightly thicker outer edge and incised decoration, missing its pin. Overall the buckle measures 34mm long, 28.21mm wide and 2.23mm thick. The internal measurement of a loop is 21.07mm long and 9.64mm wide. The frame is D shaped in cross section and has bevelled edges. On both loops the outer edges there are three traverse grooves where the pin would have sat. The buckle is similar in style and decoration to one illustrated in Whitehead 2001 (p. 54, no. 302).

A probably Post Medieval copper alloy heraldic type stud, possibly 16th-18th century AD. It is a shield shaped plate with an integral attachment stud on the reverse side which is bent. The front face is decorated with a central cross which has been divided by thin diagonal lines creating a diamond pattern. A Post Medieval cast lead alloy uniface token dating from c. AD 1550-1800. Powell Type 2. The token is decorated on one side with a capital 'W' created with two overlapping V's. The reverse is blank. The token has an even dark grey colour.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were easy to manufacture and distribute; they are therefore difficult to date precisely, but those with initials are thought to date to the Post Medieval period.

An incomplete, Post-Medieval copper-alloy toy cannon dating between c. AD 1675 - 1800. The barrel is called a cascable and the knop at the end of the breech chamber a cascable button. The barrel has circumferential mouldings and a breech chamber with a vent-hole sometimes referred to as a 'touch-hole'. There are two trunnions or basal lugs for attachment to a block or stock that are circular in cross-section.
