A post medieval copper alloy trade weight from a stacking set dating to the period c.AD 1760 - 1820. The weight is circular and has a recessed centre within which is an incised circle. There are four verification marks arranged on the cardinal points: a sword at 12 o'clock ( for London), a crowned G at 3 o'clock, (for George III) a ewer at 6 o'clock and a capital A at 9 o'clock. The reverse is undecorated and exhibits a few scratch marks. The metal has a smooth dark green patina with a patch of shiny yellow colour in places where it has been worn around the lower rim. A post medieval copper alloy and iron zoomorphic end cap from a knife dating to the period c.AD 1475-1700. The end cap is shaped in the form of a horse hoof and lower leg, with the terminal exhibiting two projecting calkins and seven recesses to indicate the shoe. The divides between the shoe and the hoof and the hoof and the lower leg are each indicated by a circumferential groove. The end cap has a slot cut into it to accomodate the tang of the knife the corroded remains of which are visible within the slot.
