An incomplete copper-alloy Trumpet brooch of Roman date, c. AD 75 - 175. The loop, pin, lower bow foot and catchplate are missing. The head of the brooch is semi-circular in shape, with a concave reverse which retains two tubular lugs. An axis bar remains fitted through the lugs, with the remains of the pin fitted around the axis bar in the space between the two lugs, and a fixture potentially a loop has broken off. An incomplete Roman copper alloy Developed T-shaped brooch, from the middle of the 1st century to the middle of the 2nd century. The brooch is almost complete missing only the hinged pin. It has solid cast wings, each with two parallel and transverse incised lines, and the chain loop perforation is not drilled. The bow is solid and the head is sub rectangular being divided into two and framed by a raised rib. An incomplete cast copper alloy double loop rectangular or trapezoidal buckle of post medieval date (c. AD 1570-1700). The buckle is trapezoidal in plan with bevelled edges. There are square and rectangular mouldings all around the frame. The buckle has a narrowed central integral bar. The pin is missing. The object is in fair condition and has a brown patina, and there is evidence of a bitumen coating. There are similar examples illustrated in Whitehead (2003:p.81 no501). A small plain circular single loop frame copper-alloy buckle. The object is undecorated and circular in cross-section. There is no constriction for the pin, which has led to this object being classed as a buckle and not a brooch; it is entirely possible that it was alternatively used as a brooch although the frame and pin are undecorated which suggests it is more characteristic of a buckle. An incomplete copper alloy single loop buckle of Medieval date (AD 1250-1400). The buckle has a single loop oval frame with a narrowed and offset strap bar. Two prominent, collared knops flank three grooves on the outer edge of the loop. The pin appears to be a replacement, constructed from thin wire, loosely wound around the narrowed strap bar. The buckle has a dark and light green patina. The buckle is 21.8mm long, 19.8mm wide, 3.5mm thick and weighs 3.2g. Similar examples are illustrated in Whitehead,1996 p.20 no.88 and are dated to circa AD 1250-1400.

A cast copper alloy double-loop oval buckle frame with a flat base and a trapezoidal profile in cross-section and a simple, narrowed, central pin bar. The frame has bevelled inner and outer edges and a flat upper face between these, creating a ridge on both sides.The pin is missing and there is no corrosion product in the form or iron oxide on the surface of the pin bar to suggest that it was made of iron. A cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle of post-medieval date (c. 17th century AD). The buckle is sub-oval in form with low 'bifid' sides. The pin is missing. but has left a rust mark where it would have been. Each outer edge is rounded with an internal rounded protrusion. The buckle is bevelled externally on the upper surface and is flat on the lower. The buckle is in good condition and has a a dark green patina. A complete struck / hammered silver half groat of the Commonwealth period AD 1649 to AD 1660. The coin has been bent in two directions, forming an S shape. From the obverse, at an angle of 45 degrees from right to left, the lower third is bent backwards, and the upper third is bent forward. Bending coins in such a manner is often associated with 'love tokens' and was common during the later post-medieval period. A complete Post medieval silver half groat Charles I (1625-49). Tower of London mint mark: star. Minted c. AD 1640-1641. The coin has been heavily clipped and the obverse is far more worn than the reverse. There are two parallel crease marks evenly placed (each is 1/3 the way in from the edge) from 2 o clock to 8 o clock on the obverse. They are similar to those made on love tokens, and there is a very slight S shape to the coin, but is hardly discernable. Size: Diameter 15.9mm, Weight 1.0g.
